ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) will head to Cannes with pre-sales for the highly anticipated Vanity Fair secured in eight territories.
The Mammoth Screen and Amazon Studios produced drama has been pre-sold to partners in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and across Europe. The news follows ITVS GE’s inaugural drama festival in February where over 200 buyers were given an advance preview of the distributor’s spring scripted slate.
Written by Golden Globe nominee Gwyneth Hughes, Vanity Fair will air on BBC First (Australia), TVNZ (New Zealand), Movistar+ (Spain), CBC (Canada), NPO2 (Netherlands), SVT (Sweden), NRK (Norway) and YLE (Finland).

Vanity Fair is a new adaptation of William Makepeace Thackeray’s literary classic which is set against the backdrop of the Napoleonic wars and follows Becky Sharp (Olivia Cooke) as she attempts to claw her way out of poverty and scale the heights of English Society.
The 7 x60 part series stars Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One) as Becky Sharp. Cooke is joined by a star-studded cast include Johnny Flynn (Genius), Martin Clunes (Doc Martin), Frances de La Tour (The History Boys), Suranne Jones (Doctor Foster) and Michael Palin (The Death of Stalin).
Vanity Fair is produced by Julia Stannard (War & Peace, The Great Train Robbery, United) with James Strong (Liar, Broadchurch, United) directing the series. Mammoth Screen’s Managing Director Damien Timmer executive produces the series with Gwyneth Hughes, James Strong and Tom Mullens (Endeavour, Fearless, Poldark).
